Stefan fleming(Vc)
Sachin Tendulkar
Ricky Ponting (C)
Jaques Kallis
Andrew Symonds
Mike Hussey
Kumar Sangakara (WK)
Shane Bond
Shaun Pollock
Makhaya ntini
Muthayya Muralidharan

This is my team. Hard to belive that there is no bret Lee. I would have replced BONd with LEE. Excluded Mcgrath for Pollock due to batting. Your team do not have a hard core spinner so included muthayya. No SMITH and PONTING together if u r not going to open with smith. Sangakkara is way better than Dhoni and HUSSY Symonds can do hard hitting. No all rounder in your team. :-)

Abhjit,
I would have stuck to Bond even in presence of Brett Lee.
Pollock is a better batsman, but off late, his bat has not done much talking. And McGrath continues to be stingy as ever. With Gayle, Afridi and Tendulkar in the team, I did not burden the team with extra genuine spinner.
Smit has the best cricketing brains in the whole world, especially captaincy - no one is a better captain than Smith - and I would have loved to have him only as a non-playing captain - but unfortunately there is no such thing in cricket. :-(
Yes I agree with yo uthat Sangakarra is better - but I have high hopes from Dhoni in this world cup. And no all rounder in the world cricket who deserves a place in my team. :-)

Mihir,

No Dada re baba.

I dont have any pressure from Sharad Pawar, who in turn has pressure from Sonia who is under pressure from CPI(M) that if Dada is not included in the team, they will withdraw their support !!!

And here's mine:

Graham Smith (C)
Adam Gilchrist (WK)
Ricky Ponting (VC)
M Jayawardhane / Younis Khan
Andrew Symonds
Mike Hussey
Andrew Flintoff
Jacob Oram
Pollock
Muralidharan
Glenn McGrath

Did you notice none of us has Brain Lara on our team... I would have said Pakistanis too, but Younis Khan could replace Jayawardhane on my list...

Gilly is my all time favourite... Yes, Sangakarra is good, Dhoni has the potential, Boucher is in amazing form and Kamran Akmal is capable of showing some kamaal, I love Gilly for his attitude, his keeping skills and the potentially explosive starts he can provide...

Graham Smith has a place on my team cause he is an awesome brain, takes care of my "openers" issue and can bowl well too...

Hey Amrish,

I agree with you - it is a difficult choice for a WK - all the Wicket Keeprs in the world today are an amzing bunch of talented batsemen too - andn ow even there is thatEnglish WK who played extremely well against the Kiwis.

however, I would not pick either Jaayawardhane or Younis Khan in this team, because they are both World Class test players, just like Rahul Dravid, but not ODI material. May be Jayawardhane is, but Younis, I dont think he is a good ODI player.

Younis' batting is agreeing with your opinion... Need i say more?
