Player of the Tournament

So far, the player of the tournament for me has been :

Dwayne Smith (WI) for a wonderful all round performance - 32 off 15 balls and then taking 3 for 36 - against Pakistan.

Running close: Ricky Ponting (Aus) for his first century of this world cup.

Yes. Agreed. The best catch is the one which Bravo held.

Hi Abhijit,
Yes I heard about the catch - I wish I could see the matches, but unfortunately I am currently in the US on a short term visit and unable to enjoy cricket on TV that you guys can do in India. Heavy dependency on Cricinfo. :-(

A captain's dream all round performance from Smith!!

Although Ricky Ponting has been one of my most admired batsmen in cricket and i was more or less certain he would get a century or 2 in the first 2 Aussie games, i am not very sure of his form.. Watched 20 minutes of his batting the other day... He didnt look great to me... But, Ricky, being Ricky, is capable of a steady big score even when the going isnt sweet...

Amrish,

You know what? I admire Ponting's batting but dislike his attitude. And I think he must be one of the world's most disliked cricketers. I think he doesnt have the humility in him which makes us see more the human side of him than the cricketer.
